Meet and Greet New Members – April’s Nauti Friday

What an amazing evening we had on Friday April 14th! On Rice Thai Cuisine and Spirits in Bellingham served us up great food. Important news on Mooring Balls in the Gulf Islands

Harness Racing!

Our Nauti-Friday event for March was Harness Racing at the Homestretch Restaurant in the Elements Casino, Surrey BC. Food and beverages were the first course, catching up with fellow boaters on projects and upcoming cruises planned. An Amazing Birthday celebration for a Wonderful Member!

Last night, many members gathered at Paso del Norte in Blaine to celebrate a special birthday for one of our longest standing members of the Semiahmoo Yacht Club. What an fabulous celebration, and we were happy to honor Colleen Hardman on her special day. Colleen is a predominant member of the community in Blaine, writing articles in the local newspaper. She is also in charge of Public Relations for the club, and there is no stopping Colleen! Happy Birthday Colleen!

Semiahmoo Yacht Club offering free moorage to other yacht clubs

By Georgia Costa - Published in the Northern Lights Semiahmoo Yacht Club (SYC) will offer two nights of free moorage at Blaine Harbor for other yacht clubs participating in a reciprocal slip program. 2023 Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting for the Semiahmoo Yacht Club was held at the Blaine Marina on March 18th. It was the first in person General Meeting in 4 years so it was great to see all the people in the room together again and of course, we missed those who could not join us. Congratulations to Randy Parton on his wedding, and Congratulations to Morgan Kelly for becoming a Life Time member! Nauti-Friday@Rustlers Front Street Grill

21 members came out to Rustlers Front Street Grill for an amazing meal and lots of fun.  Rustlers offered great service and a good deal for this event organized by Mel Kolstad.  Stories about how couples met were shared at each table which was a great way to get reconnected with everyone.  Looking forward to our next event, Harness Racing! Nauti-Friday’s begin again! Jan 20, 2023

We had 27 members join us at Paso Del Norte for a wonderful supper.  Miguel, the owner, has once again agreed to support our club with a discount for any club member who shows their card.  We also celebrated two birthdays, Richard Sturgill and Larry Roteman. We have quite a few good birthday song singers!  It was great to reconnect with several members and I would encourage you to always "switch it up" and sit with someone new and exchange some good "Nauti-stories".

Christmas Party 2022

The 2022 SYC Christmas party held at the Blaine Meeting Room at the Blaine Marina was a great success. Thanks so much to Mel Kolstad who lead the food preparation, helped by several other volunteers.  Colleen Hardman, lead the decorations which made it very festive.  Lots of goodies given out and a visit from the Drayton Harbor Maritime to receive our donation for maintainance of the Plover. Commodore’s Ball

On November 18th we had our 2022 Commodores Ball celebrating Wayne Kuypers as our 2022 Commodore. It was a wonderful evening of eating and dancing.   Tom and Dawn Douthwaite certainly owned the dance floor!   The ball was held at the Coast Hotel in Langley, B.C. and was attended by 52 members and guests.
