| Don't hesitate there is a lot that needs to be done in preparation for this event!
It's time to start preparing for the annual SYC Bocce Ball tournament. This year the SYC Luau will be July 17th thru the 19th at the Port Browning Marina on North Pender Island, BC.
Bocce Ball teams will be picked at random after the Friday night appies. It is SYC Bocce Ball tradition Spouses/Couples will not be on the same team. The Bocce Ball tournament will begin at 9:00 AM the morning of the 18th. Bocce Ball games will take most of the day depending on the number of teams in the double elimination brackets. There will be a 2 hour break for lunch midday, then games will continue until only 2 teams are left standing. Once the Luau dinner is completed we will finish the evening with the final round to determine which team will be crowned the 2026 Semiahmoo Yacht Club Bocce Ball Champions.
In SYC tradition all the members of the winning team will have their names engraved on the SYC Bocce Ball Championship Trophy. More game day details will follow in later emails so please be watching for the future Bocce Ball updates.
What is needed from you!

We need to start getting names of everyone who intends to play in the tournament. This is so the first round brackets can be created and ready to go for Saturday morning.

(Tournament Managers) A few volunteers will be needed to manage the tournament. Tournament Managers will be managing the brackets and tracking each teams progress. The Managers will be responsible for ensuring advancing teams know what courts and opponents they will be facing next. Tournament Managers will be the officiants with final ruling on any game play disputes or measurements. The managers will be the only ones making measurements for both teams during the championship round. If you don't plan to play this will be a great way to be apart of the action.

There will also be a need for volunteers to help set up the tournament courses, including the course for the championship round.
